The desktop you are using is probably configured to auto-mount removable media....which USB disks are considered to be. What desktop are you using? GNOME? One thing to try is..... umount /run/media/angelo/source_sync umount /run/media/angelo/svn_rep_backup disconnect the drive from the system make the suggested changes to the fstab reconnect the drive and check to see if the mounts are done to the points specified in the fstab.
