Now it works. I have no idea why. Since I wrote the previous
message, the monitor shut down due to inactivity. When I turned it on
again, it worked -- the desktop display is visible as it should be.
For the last few days sometimes my FC20 boots to a black screen. I use a
Samsung 4k TV and the internal GPU of a Haswell processor. If I get a
black screen a reboot usually brings things back to normal. I haven't
noticed a pattern to this behaviour.
