Programming, web design, business&office, CAD, animation and video production, gaming --- those are only some of typical real world usecases that need a large enough (or even high-end) display, a serious keyboard, and serious processing power with an extendable amount of RAM. None of this can be done (not seriously, anyway) on a laptop, let alone the tablet or a phone. So there will always be a market for desktops.
