There should be a blue icon in the tray with a big S, up near your time and network icons..

How did you quit it?  Just close the window, or use the quit item in its
own menu?

If you just close the window, it stays running so it can accept a call,
or make new ones.  Though, usually, you see an icon in the system tray
(or your desktop's equivalent), showing that it's still running, some
desktops don't have one that's compatible with its way of thinking.
