Have you tried to ssh into the fedora machine by using its IP?
in addition, presuming that you have tried login by _name_ of
linux box, have you verified that _name_ and IP are correct in
oos 'host' file?
I've not tried to login by using the name of the linux box.
This is the contents of my hosts file, I've not changed the default name
of the box from the localhost.localdomain default.
127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain localhost4 localhost4.localdomain4
::1 localhost localhost.localdomain localhost6 localhost6.localdomain6
