i understand it and i can say i have a nVidia GM260 on my ASUS G73SW and
fan runs fast because i watch movies using VLC.
so 1 possibility would be that the defautl nVidia driver in Fed20 is not
enough good (compared to Windows' one)...

Your fans are running because the CPU is hot. The question you need to
ask is not "how do I turn off the fans?" but "why is my CPU
overheating?". There's a whole (long) thread about this here in the last
couple of says.
