Unless you are super tight on disk space, there is no need to remove one
desktop environment to use another. The advantage of keeping more than
one is that you can easily switch back if it turns out you like the old
one better.

# yum groupinstall "XFCE Desktop"
# yum groupinstall "LXDE Desktop"

Once you have installed the desktop environment(s) you want, when you
get to the graphical login screen, and click on your user, before
entering the password you should have an opportunity to choose which
desktop environment you want to log in to.
