My tax software has endless lists of financial institutions it can import data from, and none of them are ever any of my financial institutions :-). So over the years, I've developed the habit of downloading the PDF tax forms so I can at least cut & paste the correct numbers with no transcription errors. Lo and Behold, this year everyone seems to have discovered the wonders of protected PDF files locked against cut & paste. Sigh... :-(. Enter the pdf2ps and ps2pdf tools on fedora! Convert the stoopid protected pdf to postscript then the postscript back to pdf and the furshlugginer protected flags are gone!
