I have a dual monitor, well, one monitor and one projector that I have
configured for presentations. System is using F20.

Presently when I start the computer, kdm's login prompt is on the
projector instead of the monitor. There are no settings in the
system settings configuration to select the monitor.

The monitor order is selected for ease of use while doing the
presentations. When dragging applications to the presentation, you
drag towards the projector screen.

Even with the projector powered off, the kdm screen is on the projector.

Have you tried 'GreeterScreen' in /etc/kde/kdm/kdmrc? When I was using a
dual screen arrangement with the 'first' screen being a HDTV in a
separate room, I used 'GreeterScreen=-1' to force the KDM login prompt
to the PC monitor. I suggest playing around with GreeterScreen values
such as -1, 0, and 1 until you find the right one.

Dave

The kdmrc doesn't have a GreeterScreen in it. I found the position option and tried to change different options with no success.

That is odd.....

[egreshko@localhost kdm]$ uname -r
3.12.8-200.fc19.x86_64
[egreshko@localhost kdm]$ pwd
/etc/kde/kdm
[egreshko@localhost kdm]$ grep GreeterScr kdmrc
#GreeterScreen=-1

Ed, doesn't that look like the parameter is commented out to you? It does to
me. Remove the hash symbol from in front of the GreeterScreen line.

The OP said it wasn't in there in F19. This is quite different from being in there but commented out. :-)

Besides, if you look at other posts by me in this thread you'd notice that I've used it and verified that it works as advertised. :-)

In F20, it works as advertised. I finally had a chance to get to the system and test it. The original statement had a "-1" in the GreeterScreen statement. I had to change it to "1" to work.

Now I can boot the system and login without the projector on. Works as expected.

Thank you to all that commented.
