Sorry Bill but I don't use duplicity myself. I just checked the man page and found what appeared to be an error. What I would do is simply test it on a small tree and a local backup file to see what happens. Apparently the backup file is in tar format so you should be able to see its contents with 'tar tvf ...' or similar. > Opps! just noticed something.
