I just did one of those 1000-pending updates on my Fedora 20 installation, and suddenly Firefox is no longer working. It worked fine before. When I run it from console, I see the error:
(process:13166): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_slice_set_config: assertion 'sys_page_size == 0' failed
This happens both with the installed firefox using yum, as well as when I remove firefox and download the binary from mozilla.com.
A search on the internet suggests that the error message was benign and not related to the problem when it popped up in an ubuntu forum a couple of months ago.
Does anybody know if this is a common problem?
Working fine here....
firefox-27.0.1-1.fc20.x86_64
I do get.....
(process:15176): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_slice_set_config: assertion 'sys_page_size == 0' failed
(firefox:15176): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: Attempt to add property GnomeProgram::sm-connect after class was initialised
(firefox:15176): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: Attempt to add property GnomeProgram::show-crash-dialog after class was initialised
(firefox:15176): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: Attempt to add property GnomeProgram::display after class was initialised
(firefox:15176): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: Attempt to add property GnomeProgram::default-icon after class was initialised
When starting from console, so that error message seems unimportant....
Are you running Gnome or KDE? I'm running the KDE scientific spin...
