Thanks for the tip. I had forgotten about package-cleanup. However, running that shows some more issues:

If I try to remove libvirt-daemon, and its dependencies, I get the following error:

It's beginning to look like a re-install is on the cards! Still, I'd love to know what caused this breakage.

Looks like the rpmdb has become corrupted. I wouldn't expect 3 versions
of something like firewalld to be installed concurrently.
should fix that.
