Got there!! :-))
As well as hiding everything pythonesque in /usr/local, I had to do the same with /usr/lib and then force-load the basic pythin RPMs.
Then I had to manually download five more RPMs before I could rpm -Uhv --force --nodeps python* to get the python requirements for yum and fedup.
At that point yum and fedup ran OK and I have started fedup --network 18.
So far, so good.
Is it necessary to go to 19 before 20 or can I go straight from 18 to 20?
