YMMV of course, but I've had to replace 2 1TB Seagate Barracudas (I know, not the unit you're asking about) on my NAS (Iomega ix2). One failed after a couple of months, the other about two years later. Luckily the disks were mirrored so I didn't lose anything. I replaced them with WD drives.
