My memory of the TV show, back in the early '50s when I was a rugrat is
that it was "Hi-yo Silver! Away!" And, Wikipedia agrees with me:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lone_Ranger Not that it's important,
but it's nice to find out that my memory of things that long ago are
still correct.

I have no idea who that was, either the voice or the person on the
horse, but that wasn't the Lone Ranger. He *always* wore his mask and
white hat, and didn't do tricks like that on the show. And, as it
happens, I've recently seen two episodes from the TV show, and what my
sister and I heard was, "Hi-yo Silver! Away!" Remember, just because
somebody posts something on youtube and claims it's the original doesn't
mean that it is.

In the TV series, Clayton Moore was the Lone Ranger. Tonto was played
by Jay Silverheels, and it was "Hi-yo! Silver! Away!" The Lone Ranger
took his mask off to go "undercover" in several episodes.

Both Clayton and Jay were family friends. I remember Jay especially
well. A very kind-hearted and nice chap (to me at least). Ah, the
San Fernando Valley in the early 60s through the 70s!

"Nostalgia ain't what it used to be!"
