I have used Gnucash for more than a decade for my personal finances. It
has worked well for me. I have never used Kmymoney so I can't really
comment or compare the two. If you do a Google search for "gnucash vs
kmymoney" you can find a number of folks who have compared the two.

In the end, which one is better for you will depend on your own needs
(and possibly on which desktop environment you are comfortable working
in; you can run KDE programs under GNOME and vice versa, so that's not a
show stopper in any case).
