This is inaccurate. The above prescription works only for packages where the scriptlet errors led to an installation failure. If however the package was installed, but scriptlets failed, then those packages are skipped. For such a case the specific package has to be reinstalled by hand. I believe it is this way since the original command was install, so install is repeated[1], not reinstall.
