Hi, I installed today Fedora 20 on i686 machine. When I ran uname -r I so that the kernel I have is: 3.11.10-301.fc20.i686 + PAE Is the PAE kernel for i686 the default one ? or maybe I missed something in the installation ?
The break point for PAE is in the 1 to 2 GiB range. It isn't just for machines with over 4 GiB of memory.
As noted in the other reply, Lives use the non-PAE kernel. That is so they can run on more hardware.
