Is it just me or is anyone else seeing this?

Description of problem:
Using SSH to access files on remote system (but local to my LAN). Using
arrow key to scroll through files or up/down in bash_history or left or
right in current command.

Works fine with 3.10.7-200.

When using kernel 3.10.9-200, cursor stops moving and characters are
either not being transmitted or are not echoing back. Have to wait for
3-5 seconds to be able to continue typing.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
3.10.9-200

How reproducible:
SSH to another system. vi into a file. Press down-arrow and hold it.
Response will stop after 10-15 lines.

Fedora 19 64 bit fully up-to-date as of 2013-08-31

I did your experiment with no problem.
It scrolled down nearly 1000 lines in .bash_history when I stopped and
system was still responsive.

[roger@rwells-lnx ~]$ uname -a
Linux rwells-lnx 3.10.9-200.fc19.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Aug 21 19:27:58 UTC
2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

perhaps it is related to the terminal program?
I use: xfce4-terminal-0.6.2-1.fc19.x86_64

Thanks. I'm using gnome-terminal (but on XFCE). The problem is
definitely Fedora kernel specific, but another commonality is that the
machines I'm talking to are running Centos 6.4.

here is the machine that I ssh'ed into:

[wellsr@repo ~]$ uname -a
Linux repo 2.6.18-308.1.1.el5.centos.plus #1 SMP Wed Mar 7 13:53:20 EST 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

here are its openssl/ssh versions:

[wellsr@repo ~]$ rpm -qa | grep ssl
openssl-devel-0.9.8e-22.el5
openssl-0.9.8e-22.el5
openssl-0.9.8e-22.el5
mod_ssl-2.2.3-63.el5.centos.1
[wellsr@repo ~]$ rpm -qa | grep ssh
openssh-4.3p2-82.el5
openssh-clients-4.3p2-82.el5
openssh-server-4.3p2-82.el5
openssh-askpass-4.3p2-82.el5

and here are mine:

[roger@rwells-lnx ~]$ rpm -qa | grep ssl
openssl-devel-1.0.1e-4.fc19.x86_64
openssl-libs-1.0.1e-4.fc19.x86_64
openssl-libs-1.0.1e-4.fc19.i686
openssl-devel-1.0.1e-4.fc19.i686
openssl-1.0.1e-4.fc19.x86_64
[roger@rwells-lnx ~]$ rpm -qa | grep ssh
openssh-6.2p2-5.fc19.x86_64
libssh2-1.4.3-4.fc19.i686
openssh-server-6.2p2-5.fc19.x86_64
openssh-clients-6.2p2-5.fc19.x86_64
libssh-0.5.5-1.fc19.x86_64
libssh2-1.4.3-4.fc19.x86_64

perhaps there is some clue here.

Roger Wells
