I posted this as my response: As much as this is a criticism of the
Linux community, it's a criticism of any online forum. The same
discussion took place on CompuServe in the 1980's. It just a fact of
social behavior. The only difference is that the online community is so
much larger now, so the small percentage of those-who-ruin-it has become
a fairly large number. As then, I give the same advice: Ignore them. Do
not respond to trolls. Don't get sucked into the conversation. Don't
feed the flames.
