I wouldn't think X would be involved when the LUKS password is requested,
it hasn't even booted up a kernel yet, as I understand it. Am I wrong?
(well, it's probably running the kernel from the initrd, I suppose,
and trying--or thinking of trying--to check devices it needs and prepare
to switch over to the "real" kernel, or so I would think...)
