What would people think of these for a /boot, / combo?
There's lots in web searchland re "ssd writes lifespan"

I have /boot, /, and swap on SSD on three servers. Take a look at the lifetime
of a decent SSD, and how many years it would take to hit MTBF. /boot has almost
no writes, on most systems swap has next to nothing, the load is almost all read
load in root, except logs, which you might want to put on a disk if you are a
worrier. I make the swap small, but 1st priority, then have a big swap in case
something actually needs it.
The nice thing about a small SSD is that you can just boot a rescue USB and make
a compressed disk image of the SSD to keep on a disk. For a personal system you
will love it. For a server, by the time you spin up the drives, set up the NFS
mounts if you use them, fast boot just isn't going to happen, but process start
can be down in the ms range, which makes a very zippy system.
