Did you protest against the new anaconda, I can't remember.
I didn't because I believe in flexibility and adaptation,
certainly when the end result is an improvement in a lot of ways.

I wouldn't put it quite that way :-) but I did mention that one
of the guides was too terse and the other long-winded and turgid.

Look at section 12 "storage and partitioning" in the 'Quick Start Guide'
figure 9 + comments.

And then sections 9.13 and 9.14 in the 'Installation Guide'. 

(It's a lot like reading math books/papers skipping the proofs
 because you want to try them yourselve first).
Here you browse the guides and then experiment with anaconda.

And François is no newcomer to the list or linux.
