Hi, In Fedora 17 and before, I could successfully replace lxdm with slim just by uninstalling one (lxdm) and installing slim. Doing so in Fedora 18 does not "work". By that, I mean that I do not get the graphical display with slim: instead, I get a text prompt and I have to login with password, following which I have to type startx. Following a load of text I am then put into the LXDE desktop screen. What exactly do I need to do in F18 to get back the "old experience"? Happy to provide more information: I am not sure what would be helpful and where to start. Many thanks and best wishes, Ranjan -- Important Notice: This mailbox is ignored: e-mails are set to be deleted on receipt.
