With out knowing the specific WM it is hard to say where to go to change the settings but I suspect you need to look for something like 'System > Preferences > appearance' or where ever you can change the Theme that you are using. The width of the border is controlled by the Theme in use and can usually be modified specifically by using a 'Customize' button and looking for the 'Border' control.
