and why do you not simply "yum install java-1.7.0-openjdk"
OpenJDK is the reference implementation of Java7



like this:

...

Package 1:java-1.7.0-openjdk-1.7.0.9-2.3.7.0.fc18.x86_64 already installed and latest version
Nothing to do

So I assume it needs to be enabled in Firefox, but Firefox preferences shows javascript enabled.

Suggestions?
