That is why you should be using akmod-nvidia from rpmfusion instead of kmod-nvidia. The binaries will be rebuilt automatically and you won't have this situation.
Not true in this case. There is a bug in the nvidia installer script that
causes the installation to fail when it can't determine the kernel version.
Akmod-nvidia produces a failure log, which identified the issue and allowed the
rpmfusion maintainers to write a patch.
