Do you know if tkremind is using another way to communicate to the
server as libreoffice or Notecase?

It has continued to work after a number of reboots so the problem is
fixed. But why? "Is it using another way?" I don't know exactly how to
answer that but I have done nothing differently in configuring those
applications. Servers and clients are tied together through an Ethernet
switch, essentially direct wire, I've removed the wifi loop and it is
all cat-5 or whatever cable. The wifi did not affect the problem, I've
disconnected that to reduce excessive usage by some Apple Mac devices
and their iCloud traffic which was killing my ISP usage allotment!
There must be a difference, but I can't even guess what it is.
There should be no difference. The only thing is that you have
configured firewall settings in the persistent configuration view. These
are not effective immediately (only after service restart or reboot). To
configure runtime changes, use the runtime configuration view.
