Video problem with Thinkpad T60 under Fedora-18

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

When I wake my Thinkpad from sleep -
whether entered by closing the lid or from the f-Menu -
the screen starts flashing every second or so,
and I have to close down by pressing the power button,
and re-start the laptop.

The video card is Radeon - AMD/ATI M52 [Mobility Radeon X1300].
I didn't install any non-Fedora driver for this.
Maybe I should?
The video modules mentioned in lsmod are:
--------------------------
i2c_algo_bit 13066 1 radeon
drm_kms_helper 43551 1 radeon
ttm 62706 1 radeon
yenta_socket 40363 0
drm 216715 5 ttm,drm_kms_helper,radeon
i2c_core 28450 5
drm,i2c_i801,drm_kms_helper,i2c_algo_bit,radeon
e1000e 213483 0
video 18552 0
sunrpc 215745 1
--------------------------

I looked at /var/log/pm-suspend.log (as someone suggested)
and see that the process stops before it should:

--------------------------------
Running hook /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/01grub resume suspend:
/usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/01grub resume suspend: not applicable.

Running hook /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/00powersave resume suspend:
/usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/00powersave resume suspend: success.

Running hook /usr/lib/pm-utils/
--------------------------------

Very occasionally this problem does not occur,
and I saw on one such occasion that failure seemed to occur
while processing the bluetooth module.
--------------------------------
Running hook /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/00powersave suspend suspend:
/usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/00powersave suspend suspend: success.

Running hook /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/01grub suspend suspend:
/usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/01grub suspend suspend: not applicable.

Running hook /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/49bluetooth suspend suspend:
/usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/49bluetooth suspend suspend: success.
--------------------------------
I disabled the bluetooth service (which I am not using)
but this did not appear to improve matters.

Any suggestions or advice gratefully received.
