As long as I will still be able to USE LibreOffice, then I guess I wouldn't

And are you a student who's used Libreoffice/Openoffice a long time,
you would not want to tuck with (eventually complicated)
side-installations. You will be totally dependend on a working office
environment, without learning something new from scratch.

That would be a main showstopper for me, choosing another distribution
in the blink of an eye.

You would chose another distribution over having a choice between two nearly identical packages? Wow.

I agree. I AM someone who uses the office suite DAILY, and for me to have to "flip" to another one would be detrimental to my work. I was more insinuating that if.......when I install a fresh copy of F18......that I would still go ahead and install / use LibreOffice, but if there were another office wuite listed in the repositories, that wouldn't hurt.....for those people who might not know of LibreOffice, or who are making the jump to Linux for the first tiem, they might opt for the other one, only because the didn't know any better. As for me?...I'm a LibreOffice disciple for the long haul! I have yet to find something that works as well for me....
