I'll stick to Chrome since that is the browser that I use and the site youtube. In chrome enter at the URL chrome://plugins/ and hit return. You should get a list of plugins. Look for the block labeled "Adobe Flash Player". Chrome has flash "built in" in that the plugin is installed along with chrome. So, you should see.... Adobe Flash Player (2 files) - Version: 11.5.31.139 Shockwave Flash 11.5 r31 Name: Shockwave Flash Description: Shockwave Flash 11.5 r31 Version: 11.5.31.139 Location: /opt/google/chrome/PepperFlash/libpepflashplayer.so Type: PPAPI (out-of-process) Disable MIME types: MIME type Description File extensions application/x-shockwave-flash Shockwave Flash .swf application/futuresplash FutureSplash Player .spl If you see the block gray and the word "Enable" instead of "Disable" it means your plugin is disabled. Click to enable. Also, youtube allows you to select html5 for videos which Chrome does handle internally. To tell youtube to server up html5 you need to enable it by going to http://www.youtube.com/html5 and joining the HTML5 trial. Note that not all content will be HTML5, read the information at that URL. Also, FWIW, make sure you chrome browser if fully updated. I had a problem with the internal flash player in chrome and had to disable it and use the plugin from Adobe.
