    Is there a scheme for changing terminal background color
    automatically for ssh? It would be convenient to have a warning that
    I was typing a command into other than this computer. I try to keep
    track of where I am but don't always which can lead to confusion or
    worse.

[root@srv-rhsoft:~]$ cat /root/.bashrc
# .bashrc
PS1="\[\033[1;31m\][\u@\h:\w]$\[\033[0m\]

and the command prompt will be red

   This runs but I see no color change?

   # .bash
   # /home/bobg/sshcolor

   PS1="\[\033[1;31m\][\u@\h:\w]$\[\033[0m\]"

   Thanks,
