why is it that when posting to this tsl i will sometimes receive my
via my subscription and sometimes i do not?

I don't know if any other mail services operate the same as
gmail, but with gmail the only way I can see my own messages
on the list is to post with one gmail address (which I tell
the mailing list to not send mail to) and read with a
different address. Gmail apparently thinks that if I sent
it, I can't need a copy back to verify it got through :-(.

If you have a spam folder maybe you should look there. My AOL mail always puts my copy there along with many of the posts that others submit. I use Thunderbird to manage my email so I just select it all and move it back into the inbox where my mail filters distribute it properly.

I too use Thunderbird for all my accounts (I have lots!) I have three sub-folders under my GMail "Inbox" that I filter for CEntOS.....Fedora....and PCLinux mailing lists. I have no problem seeing anything I've sent/received from any of my e-mail accounts...
