Finished for now -- Re: Need help with minimal install on ee701

I have tuning to do, but it looks good enough to work with a bit...

I got a 'minimal' install. I partitioned the 4Gb drive into a 3200Mb ext / partition leaving 612Mb for swap.

I unchecked a LOT of stuff and the install took 2.2Gb.

I ran yum install mplayer, and mplayer is NOT in the basic repo and that took .5Gb for yum databases. I added the rpmfusion repos and mplayer took 40+Mb, then a yum clean all took me back to 2.4Gb used. The system is doing the minimal I need it to do: view mp4 lessons.

Thanks for all the help. At some point I will move up to a ee900...

Of course no browser or such.

And how do I change the # of kernels?
Edit /etc/yum.conf to change the installonly_limit parameter. Currently set to 3. 0 means keep all.
