Yes, rsync is probably the best tool for the job in this case.
But anyway, I sometimes wonder how come that scp doesn't have an option
to disable symbolic links. It's an obvious thing to have, precisely for
these purposes...

That probably explains my scp problem, it appeared to be looped
somewhere.
I will incorporate much of this information in my Linux Notecase
notes and hopefully I will avoid this in the future. I have had good
results with SCP in the past ...
