yumex is working just fine here. Don't mess with its desktop files, your issue is something else. BTW, that looks like yumex-local.desktop which is made to install local rpm's. yumex.desktop is attached in case you lost it (?)
I don't have a desktop file for yumex because I don't have an icon for it. As I wrote, that's how its entry on my System menu was configured.
