If I can find a copy of my essay on naming units I'll post a link,
Google can't find it. IIRC the original title was "Disambiguation of
unit names in scientific nomenclature" and the proceedings replaced it
with "What's in a Name?" and used the original title as a subtitle in
the article itself.
Wasn't this basic line of reasoning the same used to start giving names
to hurricanes?
