Hi, Just curious, why are you switching to Oracle JDK instead of using OpenJDK? While 6 had many divergences, OpenJDK7 and Oracle JDK7 are quite close. As for the answer to your question, no you will not be able to remove OpenJDK because Eclipse depends on components installed by the OpenJDK RPMs. The only way it would be removable is if you use a wrapper RPM to install the Oracle JDK such that it provides the necessary java* dependencies.
