No, I don't think it does.
It seems to make a difference. On an x86_64-system do:
    $ find-repos-of-install | grep -i adobereader
    AdobeReader_deu-9.4.2-1.i486 from repo adobe-linux-i386

AdobeReader is not in adobe-linux-x86_64.
