It will save you a lot of > time and hairpull. the yum upgrade as described works perfectly not all users have plain setups where you can easily do a fresh install, this works not well if you have customiized many configurations of many services and that is why a distribution with a new release each month should be much carefuller in context of upgrades than fedora does
