That is as stupid as saying "vaccines and treatment drugs don´t work, the damage has been done, other people got sick!".
1. nature creates a virus mutation.
2. people get infected
3. scientists create updated drugs for treatment, detection, and vaccines
4. less people get infected.
hence the need for good protective and treatent measures, to contain its effects and spread.
