Would there be one key that signs all of the firmware (One key to rule them all, one key to sign them.) or a separate one for each card? Personally, I'd guess the latter because otherwise it'd be too hard to replace a bad card, or upgrade. And, of course, even then, there'd have to be a way to insert a new key as part of the installation process.
