Yes, but my question is just whether it is safe to yum remove selinux*?  It
seems rather widespread, and I just wanted to be sure it won't cause other
problems if I remove it.


It is precisely for that reason - that it is so widespread - that I personally would rather not remove it. What prompted you to start contemplating that?
