themselves as they play, so when you want to view it a second time, it has to download

Don't know if this will help, but
how about using
youtube-dl (yum -y install youtube-dl)
to download the flash file?
After  you download it, you can play it with any
of the linux media players like vlc and mplayer,
among  others.
In addition, there is the firefox add-on called
"video downloadhelper",  url
downloadhelper.net
