User dependent settings, so it must be in the home dir, but you
do not know where.

So, the "big gun" approach:
1) create a newuser
2) su -l newuser
3) delete everything in home (a few files)
4) launch mc and exit
5) have a look at what has been created in the home dir :-)
6) exit and remove the newuser
