If it shows to be stopped or killed, start it:

It appears to be selinux currenlty preventing:
systemctl start clamd.service as it clamd want to open the clamd log.
so have sent a bz, as well as do the local policy.
Frank:
I've been having issues with clamav, though not as severe as yours. Lots
of warnings in /var/log/audit/audit.log. Have to run virus scans in
permissive mode when the scan is being executed by rc.local. Similar
with freshclam though permissive mode is academic for it.
It appears to not be an issue if run as a cronjob.
On F14, I get pop-up warnings about check Selinux Alert Browser to see
the problems. On F16, I am not getting any selinux alerts and was
directed to existing bug 782269. Apparently one other issue is that
freshclam.log isn't properly set up on the default install and I was
advised to run /sbin/restorecon /var/log/freshclam.log (apparently this
is being fixed as bug 754555). I was asked to submit bug 784122
regarding the warnings when doing a freshclam.
I don't know if any of these are helpful, but I thought I would send
them along and let you take a look if you wish.
You mentioned that you submitted a bz ... can I get the number?
Thanks,
Paul
