Mostly from xinput --list and guessing (since xinput --list
insists on listing things in a format where it is close to
impossible to tell exactly what the "device name" part
of the listing is).

You can also look in /var/log/Xorg.0.log and find messages
like:

[    14.088] (II) Using input driver 'evdev' for 'Kensington      Kensington Expert Mouse'

which actually puts quotes around the name so you can tell
what the name part really is :-).
