Unless things have changed considerably, gparted doesn't copy partitions from one drive to another. Clonezilla does, but won't shrink it. (It comes on its own Live CD.) My suggestion is to move this step to 0.5 and use Windows to do the shrinking, after a thorough defrag. One way or another, you're going to have to shrink the partition, so you might as well plan on doing it right at the start.
