I'm sure I've posted this link before: http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=204752 It should tell you everything you need to know, including how to check and see if your card's supported.
I don't mean to come across negative but I have all ready jump through all these hoops and my nvidia card is supported and I still can't install the latest nvidia drivers 290.10 on my Dell 9400 Inspiron with a FX2500m nvidia card. Undoubtedly I don't think they would have issued another driver if the present driver did not have some problems. Would you be so kind as to go to the website nvidia.com and see what they have recommended and then tell me what I should consider.
