That's likely the limiting factor here. You probably don't have enough memory to boot a LiveCD, but might be able to install LXDE from the install DVD or via a network install. If you have a wired Ethernet connection or a wireless driver supported natively out of the box, a netinstall is probably the best option. You download a small ISO and the installer downloads all the packages from the Internet. That way you can get LXDE without also downloading GNOME, etc. The 32-bit net install image for Fedora 16 is here: http://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/releases/16/Fedora/i386/iso/Fedora-16-i386-netinst.iso Otherwise, you should be able to install from the DVD just fine.
